Minor in Possession (MIP)
The Minor In Possession (MIP) Program is an educational group process designed to intervene in, and assess a teen’s level of chemical abuse and to assist their parents in learning how to help keep their child drug/alcohol free. This service includes a random urinalysis and further service recommendations, if needed.
MIP classes in Lake County are offered every other month on the first two Fridays of the month. All classes take place from 4-6pm.
The schedule for 2014 is as follows:
Cost and Course Structure
The cost of Lake County MIP classes is $125.00 and must be paid in full prior to starting. The Lake County MIP class is classified as education, not treatment, so insurance will not cover the cost.
Upon receiving the MIP Court Referral, the client will need to enroll with Western Montana Addiction Services and complete all consent forms, written tests, and Releases of Information before beginning classes. The first class is designed for the adolescent only, while attendance of the adolescent and a parent/guardian is required for the second class.
